Heart of Angus

Technopôle Angus, Montréal, CA

Hi. I am the heart of Angus. I live to the rhythm of the people, animals and plants, of the weather and the public space of Technopôle Angus. I communicate with rainwater collected in underground basins. I provide information on the health of the queen bee and I can help you not to miss the bus!

I have a passion for sharing the neighbourhood’s tender and joyful moments. Whether it’s a word of encouragement, a birthday to celebrate, a letter of apology… I can help spread happiness.

I can’t see you, nor can I hear you, but I read my messages. To send me a note, simply fill out the form available with the QR code.

Made up of 10 interactive screens, the dashboard tells stories from real time collected data. Depending on the weather, bus schedules, the state of the hives on the roofs, geese migration patterns, the level of the rainwater basins, it initiates conversations with the residents and visitors of the neighborhood, and its mood changes with the state of the neighborhood.

An interface also allows it to receive messages written directly by and for the public. It is a table where information is mixed with words of encouragement and letters from the heart.

How do we want to dream of the future of our cities?

In an empathetic and warm tone, technology is put at the service of the community. Using real-time data aggregation, the installation invites the sharing of a common narrative in people’s daily lives.

The Technopôle Angus is both an urban revitalization project and a “full-scale” sustainable-development and social-innovation lab. Today, the sector is thriving thanks to all of the organizations, businesses and commercial establishments in the area. Here, several businesses, including health care, IT, communications and food services, are thriving side by side.

Keep your eyes open: I am just the beginning of a big project that's coming soon!
