Walk Walk Dance makes its big debut at The Bentway’s Playing in Public program

From 13 July 2021 to 24 July 2021
Daily’s summer of dance continues in Toronto.

Our project Walk Walk Dance is part of The Bentway summer programming Playing in Public, a collection of outdoor and online projects that explore how “play” can help drive our urban recovery.

We’re in great company with the public works of Assemble (UK), Esmaa Mohamoud (CA), Studio F-Minus (CA), Thomas Mailaender and Erik Kessels (NL), Pierre Poussin (CA), The Street Society (FR), Stuart Semple (UK), Nelson Wu and biosphere (CA).

The Bentway is a new public space underneath the Gardiner Expressway, revitalizing this large piece of transit infrastructure as part of the Highline Network.

Created for and during the pandemic, Walk Walk Dance is a series of music-making lines on the ground to play music with your feet, 6 feet apart. It is a roving project — designed for struggling cities that need to quickly revive their public spaces in the wake of COVID-19.
