We Can Dance is a large scale collective choreography. One after the other, participants are invited to follow the steps of an original choreography or … the ones of the person before them. In this surprising imitation game, the dance evolves constantly and personalities spontaneously express themselves.
This collaborative experience is touring the world: everywhere it goes, Daily tous les jours invites local choreographers to imagine hand in hand — and step by step — an original dance.
How It Works
Taking place in a shipping container transformed into a recording studio, We Can Dance invites the public to reproduce the steps of a unique choreography or the interpretation of the person that preceded them. Each dance is added in real time to the previous ones in a nearby large scale projection, thus creating a troupe of giants dancing building facades of the city. Close to the container, an impromptu theatre allows anyone who passes by to sit down and enjoy the show.
You Can Dance
In each town where We Can Dance is touring, local choreographers join in with Daily tous les jours to create an original dance exploring the canon — a rhythmic concept inspired by the McLarena.
